2) for gf(x) to exist, range of f(x) has to be a subset of domain of g(x)

1) drawing inverse functions on GC: one does not need to come out with the new function but can instead just use the old function keyed into the GC and press 2nd PRGM and select 8: DrawInv. then go to the VARS => to display Y-VARS menu and select your function before pressing enter. (note that the inverse function is merely a reflection in the line y=x)
2) solving inequalities: although if x is an unknown one is unable to multiply both sides by x, take note that it is still possible and helpful at times to multiple both sides by x^a where a = even number such as 2 instead since that will always be positive and thus the sign need not change.
3) when using the GC to plot graphs, abs value refers to when everything is mod while {1, -1} (which is the same as {-1, 1} btw), is for both positive and negative results...usually used for a graph which square.
